Streamlight
SCORPION Luxeon LED
I've
owned and used many, many tactical lights both in conceal carry and
in my yearly pilgrimage to Front Sight for tactical training. Also,
I am free to put ANY tactical flashlight on this web site; and I
choose to post the Streamlight brand.
The
Scorpion Luxeon LED tactical light is 4.9 inches of pure long
lasting LED light with the Lexeon LED pushing out 42 lumens (10
times more than standard LED). The Luxeon LED approximates the
range and brightness of a standard incandescent xenon lamp, but with
its microprocessor regulated runtime, it will last 3.75 hours.
I also own a xenon lamp tactical light that will not last an hour,
so the Luxeon LED is quite an improvement while giving the
approximate range and brightness of the popular xenon lamp.
The outer shell of machined aluminum is covered with a
rubber grip surface. With a weight of only 4.4 ounces the Scorpion
is light enough to carry full-time.

provide safety and tactical advantage to the CCW or police officer.
The TACTICAL LIGHT has all the features
you require in a small lightweight package. Made of rugged aircraft
aluminum to remain dependable.
We carry the LED Models

and most versatile tactical flashlight on the market. 2 models to

Streamlight TLR-1
Rail Light
I've waited till the BS and dust has settled before I committed to a
weapon mounted light system and I'm glad I did! Here's the best I've
found - the Streamlight TLR rail-mounted tactical light - Made in the
USA. LED light source, 3-watt 80 lumens (no, this is not a mis-print)
and the deep-dish parabolic reflector pushes the light out for long
range targeting. The LED lamp is way more shock-resistant than a
incandescent lamp and has a 20,000 hour life. Uses 2
3-volt lithium batteries. Momentary or constant switch on back. One
hand snaps light to handgun/rifle and tightens thumb-screw -- and since
the screw is on the side it keeps your fingers away from muzzle. Fits
to all Glock-style rails and all Picatinny rails (MIL-STD-1913). Total
weight 4.18 oz. Constant-On battery life: 2.5 hours. Waterproof to 1
meter. Streamlight offers their "No Excuses" limited lifetime warranty. |

Tactical lights differ from the ordinary
flashlight in two ways: Intensity of the light beam and location
of the light switch. The first thing you will notice about your
tactical light is the extreme brightness of the light output -
especially if you shine it in your own eyes, or worse yet, those of a
close and former friend. When you recover from momentary blindness
you will come to the realization that the bright light is not only to
see and identify, but it is also important for blinding and disorienting
a perp bent on harming you.
The light switch on tactical lights is located on the butt-end of the
light and is often called a tail-switch. This location of the
switch allows you to use one of several flashlight techniques to allow
you to both light up a perp and to maintain a full-combat grip on the
handgun in the ready-to-fire position.
If you are going to survive criminal
and civil litigation after having to use your weapon to defend your life
it is only prudent that you show that you had full identification of the
threat in no, low or diminished light. Tactical lights can not
only help to save your life, they can also save the life of the perp,
especially if a shot is not required to de-escalate the threat. I
strongly suggest formal training, especially training that incorporates
the use of tactical lights. Depending on the source of the
information for citizen self-defense shootings, the majority of attacks
have three things in common: (1) They happen in no, low or
diminished light, (2) They happen between 3 and 7 feet, and (3) The
attacker is frontal, or looking straight on you. You just can't
have to much information! |
