AR15 Stock Replacement
Ever been to a shooting school or watched shooting instruction
videos? Besides trigger control, much instruction and practice
time is spent teaching you to BRING THE GUN UP TO YOUR EYES QUICKLY
(called the "snap"), as opposed to searching for the sights or scope
with your head and eyes. Good idea, because it makes your
shots fast and accurate. Well, it's a good idea until you get
to the CAR15 and it's variants which all require a head tilt and
contortion in order to see the sights or the optics. The block
of wood I have been whittling into a cheek rise and the countless
cheek pieces are no longer useful; not since I've found the solution
to all my "head tilt" problems: the
DUOSTOK stock replacement. Now I no longer have to
shoot with the bottom tip of my CAR15 stock resting on my shoulder.
|
That's because the DUOSTOK stock replacement has a stock piece that
fits in the natural pocket of my shoulder and raises the sights UP
TO MY EYES. Now when I "snap" my DPMS, the sights are right
there where they should be.
The DUOSTOK stock replacement is easy to
install. Simply pull down the slide lever while pulling off
your old stock. Then, pull down on the slide lever of the
DUOSTOK and push it on the buffer tube.
The DUOSTOK comes in two flavors
(both black): Universal, and Colt M4. The Colt version
fits the Colt M4's with their buffer tubes .02 inches smaller than
almost everybody else. The Universal DUOSTOK fits everybody
else. Even if you have an odd-ball size and the DUOSTOK is too
tight, about 2 minutes with a rolled up piece of (100-150 grit)
sandpaper (sand the last 2-3 inches only) will get the job done.
For those who do not want to do a sanding job, DUOSTOK offers a
generic buffer tube that fits the Universal DUOSTOK.
The Colt M4 DUOSTOCK replacement
is $89.50, the Universal DUOSTOK is $79.50, and the Universal Buffer
Tube is $19.50. The DUOSTOK is a bargain considering other
replacement stocks run $70-$90. |
