Fold back the top strap anchors and you will be presented with 3 zippers for 3 center compartments.  Left outside zipper opens to a full length compartment -- inside you will find a 3/4 length zipper pocket on the outside wall, and on the inside wall an open pocket and another open pocket held closed with elastic in the neck of the pocket.  Right outside zipper opens a full length and width compartment.  Center zipper is what is unique about the Cheyenne because it is the gun compartment and can be accessed from the top, or the side, your choice on where you place the two zippers.  That's because the gun compartment zipper goes from one end to the other AND then down to the bottom, giving you a two sided zipper compartment -- which means you can choose to access the firearm from the top, or side, by simply locating the two zippers together at the junction you choose to unzip from.

The Cheyenne front sports one open-top pocket and one 3/4 width zipper pocket above the open pocket.
